More and more agencies are using Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) to implement an open or remote office concept in which employees work out of whatever space is available – in the field or at home. The General Services Administration (GSA) “hotel” concept is saving the agency $24 million a year by reducing the office footprint and complexity of the network. By the end of 2015, the Army plans to decommission 80 percent of its Pentagon-based PCs through virtualization. VDI allows CIOs and network operators to deliver a better user experience over a wide-area network (WAN). This Fireside Chat will provide a deep dive on how agencies create a more productive, secure and collaborative virtual workspace with the ability to patch instantaneously, reduce the energy footprint and refresh technology one time.
